I'm pleased to announce the title of the seventh book in the Sgt. Dunn series:
Castle Breach
My goal is to publish about mid-February. You can check on my daily first draft progress on this blog (on the left side).
Here's the first draft of the book description.
Neil Marston, the British spy from Operation Devil’s Fire and Saving Paris, is back. He’s impersonating an SS major assigned as a staff officer at the exclusive Hohenstein Castle, located south of Salzburg, Austria. The castle is known for the high level SS meetings it has elegantly hosted throughout the war. Marston learns of an upcoming meeting and dinner with no less than the Führer himself, a rare appearance outside Germany. He passes word to England and waits.
U.S. Army Ranger Sergeant Tom Dunn’s new assignment is to assist the Greek resistance group Ethnikós Dimokratikós Ellinikós Sýndesmos, the National Republican Greek League, known as EDES. The plan is to destroy a German supply depot because the Germans are preparing to leave western Greece to face off against the Red Army barreling through the Balkans.
British Commando Sergeant Malcolm Saunders, recently married, receives the task of breaching the castle and carrying out the kill order for the top Nazis who will be attending. Saunders and his squad rush to rehearse the attack and are then on their way to Austria.
At the dinner meeting, Hitler reveals some surprising and hopeful news. Another guest, a member of the Abwehr, Military Intelligence, presents the Führer with an intelligence coup that delights the dictator. Marston immediately recognizes the extreme danger to the U.S. Army. He prays that Saunders arrives on time and can be flexible in his attack.
Military plans rarely survive first contact with the enemy. Saunders suddenly faces an impossible situation when things go deadly awry. He has no choice but to call for help from the one man who can deliver, Tom Dunn. But Dunn has serious problems of his own in Greece. Saunders and Dunn struggle to complete their missions, and to survive.
Munsterman raises the stakes in book seven of the Sgt. Dunn WWII Action Thriller series. He takes the reader to the mountains of Austria and the coastline of Greece, blending history with an action-packed plot.
Stuff that interests me about writing military thrillers set during World War II: The Sgt. Dunn series.

My photos of the week
While watching the KC Chiefs on NBC tonight, they had a shot of KC's Union Station and downtown KC from Liberty Memorial. I took these shots right off the TV using my almost 9 year old Canon Rebel XSi. I used the auto setting "TV" which uses shutter speed 1/30, F4.5, and I set the ISO at 200.
The view is looking north. The distance from the foreground flagpole to the Union Station is about 300 yards.

Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor
"Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan." ~ President Franklin D. Roosevelt, addressing Congress.
Please take a moment sometime today to remember those who died that terrible day, men, women, and children.
You can watch today's event's here. It looks like the first coverage begins at about 11:45 am CST. There's a countdown clock on this link.
