Eighty years ago today, the Japanese Navy attacked Pearl Harbor without first declaring war.
"Mr. Vice President, and Mr. Speaker, and Members of the Senate and House of Representatives: YESTERDAY, December 7, 1941 a date which will live in infamy the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan." ~ President Franklin D. Roosevelt, speech to joint session fo Congress, 8 December 1941.
They Japanese ruled the Pacific through the winter of '41-'42. However, in early June, 1942, The U.S. Navy decimated the Japanese fleet at Midway, sinking 4 crusiers. The Japnese Navy never recovered from that.

I am thrilled to reveal the cover for the newest Sgt. Dunn Novel, #15, Disrupt and Destroy. My talented friend, David M. Jones, Jonesy, created it yesterday.
I'm hoping for a release next weekend. Check back to see the final edit status.
Description
The German 51st Mountain Corps is fortifying its position northwest of Bologna, Italy in the Apennines Mountains. Its two full divisions are on the front line against the Americans. U.S. Intelligence learns they are planning to launch a major offensive within two weeks.
Master Sergeant Tom Dunn, who leads a squad of lethal U.S. Army Rangers, is directed to join forces with an experienced Italian partisan group working in the same area, the same group he and his men personally trained just one month ago in the book Bold Rescue. For the first time, he takes two weapons sections along. They are armed with the infantryman’s friends the deadly 60mm mortars, and bazookas. Once safely in the partisans’ cave headquarters, he and the partisan leader, Captain Giancarlo Sozzi, plan multiple attacks on the Germans and local infrastructure to disrupt and destroy their ability to mount the planned offensive. Can the combined Ranger and partisan forces succeed with two divisions right on top of them?
Dunn’s younger sister, Gertrude, recently graduated from the Office of Strategic Services training facility, The Farm, arrives in the Philippines. She settles in to her new location, Dagupan, where General Douglas MacArthur returned with an invasion force recently. She struggles to recover from over forty hours of travel and adjust to the large time difference. Filipina Isa Bondac, her handler, assigns a challenging task. Gertrude, as usual, solves problems. In her first action in the field, she is faced with a split-second life or death decision. Will she make the right choice?
Meanwhile, British Commando Sergeant Major Malcolm Saunders leads his squad into Germany to destroy a canal lock. The Germans are using the canal to transport important raw material and machinery parts from the Baltic Sea to the Elbe River. Can the British soldiers complete the mission and escape through Hamburg to the pick up point where their submarine home awaits? It’s only forty miles . . . across the German homeland.
In book fifteen of the Sgt. Dunn Novels, Munsterman weaves real WWII events into action-packed stories for our favorite Sgt. Dunn characters, revealing the courage and determination soldiers, resistance fighters, and OSS field agents demonstrated day by day.

Today is the 10th Anniversary of the publication of the first Sgt. Dunn novel, Operation Devil’s Fire (11 July 2011 for the paperback and 23 July 2011 for Kindle). Since then, I have published 13 more. All the books are shown on this blog’s left.
I started writing ODF in January 2004, so it took a long time to be published, but it began to take on a life of its own in May 2012, and the rest, is, well, awesome. I feel quite blessed by the books’ popularity and am so grateful to my readers.
I want to thank my wife for her constant support and
encouragement, and her editing. Thank you to my FIRST READERS for their
work at reading / editing the books when they are in the very rough stage.
I’m currently working on Sgt. Dunn #15, as yet untitled, which is typical
for me. It starts on 29 January 1945, right after #14, Risk and Valor,
ends.
Also in the works is a Pacific Theater series, The Nash Brothers, which will follow three U.S. Navy brothers who are officers through their experiences aboard a PT Boat, a submarine, and possibly the U.S.S. Enterprise.
Thanks for sharing this journey with me.
Thank you to all the men who participated in D-Day. Honoring those 4,414 who died so the beachhead could be established.
Thank you to all members of the United States Armed Forces, past and present. We honor your dedication and sacrifice. Thank you to the families of members for their sacrifices.
Hi Sgt. Dunn readers!
I'm thrilled to announce that Sgt. Dunn Novel #14, Risk and Valor is avalable on Amazon!
Thanks for your support.

Hello Sgt. Dunn readers!
I hope you and your family are safe.

Risk and Valor
The Nazi regime controls some of the most innovative engineers in the world. Minister of Armaments Albert Speer oversees their projects, especially the top secret ones. The U.S. Eighth Air Force gets terrifying news about one of those projects: German rocket engineers have created the world’s first guided surface-to-air missile, Wasserfall, based on the V2 rocket. The devastating weapon could completely put a stop to daylight bombing raids at a critical point in the war. Master Sergeant Tom Dunn and his lethal squad of U.S. Army Rangers are tasked with destroying the missile complex in northern Germany, and all the missiles.
The British Army is conducting Operation Cobalt, the push from the Netherlands into Germany to clear out the Roer Triangle. To assist, Sergeant Major Malcolm Saunders and his squad of deadly Commandos, parachute behind German lines to wipe out reconnaissance airplanes at an airfield, blow up an ammo depot, and meet the advancing British 52nd Division where they’ll face brutal house-to-house fighting.
Meanwhile, Gertrude Dunn, Sergeant Dunn’s youngest sister, a student at The Farm, the training grounds for Office of Strategic Services (OSS) agents, is in her last days before graduation day. She must complete two difficult covert missions out in the normal world. If she’s caught by the police, she’ll be jailed.
The Wasserfall missile complex is so large, nearly three and a half square miles, Dunn must take two more Ranger squads to destroy it. Almost immediately upon arrival, Dunn and the rest of the Rangers experience first-hand the old military saying: “no plan survives contact with the enemy.” Can Dunn react quickly enough and still complete the mission? And if so, at what cost?
Once again Munsterman superbly blends history and fiction in a page-turning action-packed story. In his fourteenth WWII action thriller, Risk and Valor, he reminds readers of war’s brutality and the courage certain men display to overcome it.
Note: cover is first draft
I finished the final edit today. Now for the finishing touches. Hope to release soon.
I'm on the final edit!
Check back here to see when the book will be released.
Hi Sgt. Dunn readers! I'm so pleased to reveal the title and description for the newest Sgt. Dunn novel (#14!). Credit for the title goes to my wonderful daughter-in-law, Jessica, who came up with it almost immediately after reading the description. By the way, my son, Nathan, and she welcomed their third child and second son, Jonas David Mackenzi, only six days ago.
I'm hoping to release it next month (February, perhaps week 3). You can track my editing progress in the upper left of this blog.
